Golden Circle

Day 1

• Flew in from Estonia 

• On the drive to the hotel we stopped where the North American plate and the European plate meet 

• Drove up to our hotel at the Blue Lagoon and were able to see the recent lava eruption 

• Enjoyed our time using the facilities of the Blue Lagoon

• Dinner at The Blue Lagoon 

Day 2

• Breakfast at the Blue Lagoon 

• Drove into Reykjavik, took pictures in front of the church, went inside, a beautiful sight 

• Started off at Pvingbeller which is where thousands of years ago, vikings would have meetings and also where Game of Thrones scenes were filmed

• You can also see where the tectonic plates are divided 

• Snack at Laugarvatn Fontana 

• Stopped at Bruarfoss

• Second lunch at 

• Drove around the Golden Circle

• Stay Blue Lagoon 

Day 3

• Stay Blue Lagoon 

• Flew from Reykjavik to Dublin

The South Coast / Golden Ring

From August 31st to September 8th, 2024

Day 1

• Meant to do a whale watching tour with Elding, but the weather was not compromising

• Prihnukagigur (aka Inside the Volcano) tour down a volcano where a Kaleo music video was filmed 

• Stay at Hotel Ranga

Day 2

• Porsmork tour with Midgard in a large super jeep 

• Stay at Hotel Ranga 

Day 3

• Horseback riding in Skalakot

• Skogafoss waterfall

• Lunch at Skogar Bistro 

• Black Sand Beach

• Katla ice cave tour with Katlatrack

• Dinner Black Crust Pizza

• Stay at Hotel Klaustur

Day 4

• Fjadrarglijufur

• Lunch was salmon sandwiches 

• Laki craters 

• Fagrifoss waterfall

• Hotel Klaustur

• Dinner at Kjaar  -  best meal we had in all of Iceland. Max had pasta, Hailey had lamb chops 

Day 5

• Drove to Skaftafell and hiked to Svartifoss waterfall with black basalt columns 

• Drove to Jokulsarlon (Glacier lagoon) to see icebergs and glaciers. Saw Diamond Beach. 

• Stay at Hotel Jokulsarlon (Glacier Lagoon Hotel)

Day 6

• Drove to airport in Hofn, landed in Reykjavik

• Hopped on a helicopter ride Atlantsflug 

• Stay at Edition Hotel
