See/Do

  • Walk the busy streets of Kathmandu

  • Go see the Buddhist Swayambhunath Temple at the top of the mountain/hill (take a car to the top). The temple is adorned with prayer flags and monkeys will be sliding along the railings as you make your way down the steeps steps back down to the city below. Take a stab at spinning the prayer wheels around (always clockwise).

  • Take a helicopter trip around to see the top peaks in Nepal 

    • Day 1: (we saw 8: Everest, Lotse, Stopped off at Sagarmatha National Park and saw the red hat tibetans chanting during their ceremony, landed at Lukla (the worlds most dangerous airport), walked around the main street, watched an emergency helicopter operation

  • Stopped at the furthest north village to the Tibetan border Gandaki, flew over to Jomsom Mustang 

  • Landed at the Royal Mustang Resort at Lo-Manthang, toured the ancient walled city, watched young kids run around and play, locals enjoying each others company, visited 3 different monasteries, spent time talking with the monks, met some old ladies seated in the street, fixed and old man’s zipper, met a lady coming back from collecting yak dung to bring back to her house (to keep them warm for the winter), went to a lookout point on the roof of a home in town, skipped with some of the young kids in town, of which one of them dragged me into her mom’s store (Lo Paradise Souvenir Shop, Lo-Manthang-8), of which we spent a good amount of money on souvenirs,  

  • Toured around the next morning visiting a cave hideout, visiting a buddhist temple built into the mountains and colored so bright, had lunch at [lunch spot] and watched two local men playing a dice game (it also seemed like they were gambling), 

  • The next day we headed off back through Jomsom to the Annapurna range, we walked to the Annapurna base camp 

  • Took a chopper next to the city of Pokhara where we stayed a few nights in the Fishtail Lodge, we took a canoe out to the main part of the city and walked along the waters edge, stopped to have pizza at Fire Pizza, later that night had a drink at Tiki Bar Pokhara

  • Took our flight the next day back to Kathmandu, walked around the city some more, checked into hotel [name]

  • Took a flight the next morning on Drukair to Paro, Bhutan
