Panama

Panama City

From March 11th to 13th, 2023

Day 1

  • After our trip to the Galápagos Islands, we stopped off in Panama before venturing onto Uruguay. We flew in from Guayaquil, Ecuador and stayed at the Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo

  • Since we arrived a little late, we only really had time for dinner, which was at one of the hot spots in town. Makoto Panama was a hip sushi spot at the top of a building with great views of Panama City. After we arrived the whole place filled completely up with larger groups of friends meeting up on a Saturday night for dinner.

Day 2

  • After somewhat of a late night, we took started our day with lunch at Fonda Lo Que Hay, which was recommended to us by another guest eating at Celele in Cartagena. His recommendation did not disappoint. The food was delicious, authentic and unique.

  • We walked around the old charming town for a little before venturing off to seeing the most popular tourist attraction in Panama: The Panama Canal. The line was really long, but it moved quick. We ended up watching a 3D movie that was made about the Panama Canal project that was narrated by Morgan Freeman. It was a nice way to educate ourselves on the canal prior to seeing it in action.

  • We went back to the hotel and got ready for dinner at Azahar. Also a trendy spot.

Day 3

  • Flew out from Panama City to Montevideo to continue our trip over to Punta Del Este.
