Before heading to the concert that evening we went to dinner at Sugo Pasta.
Hailey stopped at a vintage clothing store in Gatwick to pick up some EDM concert flare
Took a taxi to SWG3 concert where Above & Beyond was playing. Had fun singing and dancing.
Went to Pot Still whiskey bar which is a staple in town
Day 2
Hailey went shopping to pick up some items for the upcoming Royal Scotsman train ride
Started with lunch at Bread Meats Bread
Walked to the Market Gallery in Calton
Hailey got her nails down at a Vietnamese place, then opted for a hair treatment in their backroom.
Went to Paesano Pizza
Went to Flight Club to throw some darts
Finished evening at infamous Waxy O’Connors pub with an double organ inside and live music
Day 3
Drove from Gatwick to Edinburgh
Had a beyond belief lunch at Tipo (so much that when we returned to Edinburgh a few days later, we went back): the bread, the olive oil, the mozzarella, the cacio e Pepe
We met back at the Balmoral to meet the group that we were going to board the Royal Scotsman with
We walked from the Balmoral to the train and were greeted and chaperoned by a traditional Scot wearing incredible traditional clothing and ear piercing bagpipes. People from all around the train station were taking pictures and filming.
Hopped on the train, were served champagne and some of the freshest strawberries around
We then made it to our room where we had the master suite: we had a bottle of Dom Perignon in the room along with some fresh flowers and other amenities. Happy!
We took a few sips from our top shelf whisky and headed to the bar cart for cocktails before dinner
We passed by the famous Carnoustie golf course while we sipped on our drinks and listened to local musicians play
We had a lovely dinner with a couple from Germany and another couple from Canada. Scottish salmon was served. Yum.
The train stopped for a bit and we hopped off to take a walk around (we needed a mini break from the boozing). We walked by a Glen Keith Distillery (now owned by Chivas)
Hopped bcack on the train for more live music and a night cap
