Bratislava

From June 2nd to June 3rd, 2023

Day 1

• We drove in from Lake Bled, Slovenia, through Austria, sometimes being escorted by Hells Angels to make it to our Hotel Grand River Park in Bratislava. 

• Once getting to town, the hotel must have been half full with Hells Angels, but we didn’t mind it much - it was fun to get a glimpse into their world. 

• We went for a walk along the river and Hailey stopped at the mall to get her nails done (we had an upcoming fancy train ride on the Orient Express). 

• We walked through the Main Street in town and came across a classic car show near Hviezdoslav Square It looked as though the cars were set on a course to run through the tiny streets of the town so people could see them from all angles. 

• We stopped for drinks at Antique American Bar and drank our faces off (we must have had more than 10 drinks)

• We stopped for a slice of pie across the street at I <3 Pizza, and when they give you your pizza you have the choice of adding a spread on the top of it: pesto, garlic, or chili sauce. We tried all 3. 

• The sun was going down and we stopped at one more bar on the way home, Mirror Bar inside the Raddison Blu Carlton Hotel. Mirror Bar was mostly a theatrical bar, much like Paradisio in Barcelona. The cocktails were served in planetarium style glasses, the menu used a blacklight to discover more hidden parts to it, smoke, fire, and fragrance was also used as part of the show. We had 3-4 drinks there before calling it a night and walking home to our hotel. 

Day 2

• We woke up this morning, had breakfast in our room, and made our way for the 2 hour drive to Bucharest.
