Latvia

Riga

From June 12th to June 14th, 2024

Day 1

• Rolled into Latvia from Lithuania - driving from Vilnius. We came straight to dinner at an Italian place called Dilettante. We ordered cheese pizza (Max) and penne arrabbiata (Hailey). The penne was divine! Not expected. 

• Checked into our hotel: Kempinski Riga

Day 2

• Hailey went off to do laundry at a local laundromat

• Walked around the city, saw things like the National Opera, beautiful parks, and random art sculptures sprinkled throughout the city.

• We went for lunch at an Israeli restaurant called Space Falafel - the food was truly amazing and a breath of fresh air! We ordered a pastrami sandwich (not a usual order!) and it was mouth watering mind blowing. Separately we got some grilled halloumi cheese and a greek salad. Next, lamb pita and chicken pitas arrived. Delish. Just the kind of food comfort we needed.

• We walked back to the hotel after lunch and noticed a picture of Putin on the side of the Ukraine embassy. It faces the Russian embassy. I guess the Ukrainian side put it up there to taunt the Russians.

• Later that day we went for cocktails at Cloud Nine.

• Then we went for Italian food at Bella Napoli. Hailey got the bolognese, Max got the Diavola pizza. We continued to walk around the main city of Riga.

Day 3

• Left Riga

• Stopped first at Big Bag Bagels - YESSSSSSSS. So good!

• Flew to Tallinn Estonia.
